England is renowned for its history with ancient castles dotted around the countryside, and well loved for its variety of landscapes such as the rolling hills in the Cotswolds, bustling city life of Manchester, charms of sleepy Cornish villages and dramatic coastal splendour of the North East.
Often overlooked by overseas golfers, England has some of the most traditional, difficult links golf anywhere in The UK and Ireland. The Open Championship visits England’s Links twice every 5 years, and always produces a thrilling tournament. England also boasts some fabulous Heathland style courses such as Sunningdale and Walton Heath, which offer a fabulous experience within close proximity to the excitement of the Nation’s great cities.

Winter: Cold and mainly wet. Pack lots of layers and waterproofs! Woolly hats and mitts will also help to keep you warm. The UK and Ireland will suffer the same harsh winters so it really is only for the hardy! That being said, the courses are empty and there can be some spectacular days in January and February. The green fees are lower too!
Spring: Very mild; a lovely time to play in England. Occasional “April showers” will fall but persistent rain is unusual. Pack shirts, sweaters and waterproofs. No need for woolly hats but a cap will help keep your head cosy.
Summer: Warm and occasionally wet. Time to break out the shorts! Pack shirts and slipovers. The temperature can get into the 80’s so best pack some sunscreen too.
Autumn: Similar to spring – mild and dry in The East, with rain in The West. Pack shirts and sweaters along with the waterproofs. Short sleeved waterproof tops are ideal for the autumn.
